I spent 27 years in fiber optics and critical infrastructure — the kind of work where uptime isn't a KPI, it's the job. Low-voltage systems, network builds, inspections, permitting, utility-adjacent environments where a single missed detail costs somebody a lot of money and a lot of trust. That's where I learned what real systems look like.

Along the way I watched a pattern repeat itself: the best electrical contractors in a market weren't always the ones getting the calls. The ones getting the calls were the ones who showed up first — first in search, first on the phone, first with a clear answer. Craft mattered, but distribution mattered more. And nobody was building distribution for the trade in a way that respected the trade.
